Some thoughts on this July 4th 2020

This fourth—maybe more so than others—is a good time to reflect on our country’s 244th birthday.

Yes, there are lots of problems, but I want to try to be hopeful. I’ll be asking my family a question (and feel free to borrow): this time next year, what’s one area that you would like to see improved in this country?

For me, it is justice—racial, economic, environmental, etc. I realize that’s a tall order, and I suspect I’ll be saying the same thing next year and maybe for the remainder of my days with the surface dwellers. But I am hopeful.
